Context-sensitive TOD strategies for Massachusetts communities

Goody Clancy worked with a coalition of Massachusetts transportation, housing and economic development agencies, to shape a strategy for advancing transit-oriented development in a wide range of locations across the state.

The TOD strategy included the following elements:

  • Development of prototypes for TOD development appropriate to urban, suburban, and rural situations
  • Preparation of guiding principles for TOD development consistent with the Commonwealth’s transportation, economic development and environmental goals
  • Implementation of three pilot TOD initiatives at a variety of scales in partnership with the cities of Malden, Revere, and Woburn
