For Kayleen, architecture is a very large, complicated puzzle—not unlike LEGOs. She loves figuring out how the many pieces of a building come together to create a cohesive whole. But solving the puzzle also means keeping sight of the people who will ultimately inhabit it and considering how each space can shape someone’s everyday experience.
That people-first outlook is what draws Kayleen to education design. With a background spanning healthcare and education, she’s interested in creating intentional environments that support how people learn, connect, heal, live, and work. She also appreciates that architecture rarely presents the same challenge twice. Every project is an opportunity to explore something new and keep learning.
Kayleen earned her Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University and was first introduced to Goody Clancy while working for a partner firm on the Forbes and Beeler project at Carnegie Mellon. After moving to Boston in 2025, she reconnected with members of the Goody Clancy team who had worked on the project. Now part of the firm herself, she’s excited to bring her perspective to designing places that foster learning and community.
Outside of the office, Kayleen embraces what she affectionately calls “grandma hobbies”: crocheting, baking, and reading about a book a week. Her latest undertaking is learning the art of sourdough. And when she’s not baking, there’s a good chance she’s photographing her cats, Sam and Riley, who take up roughly 75% of her camera roll.
