Starting at a young age, John learned about the world through drawing and hands-on creative projects, both of which led to an interest in design, and ultimately to the field of architecture. John has a natural interest in technical topics and naturally embraces the complex challenges that crop up during the design process.

Today, John’s broad project experience gives him the agility to tailor custom design responses that also offer room for growth and change. John is a skilled listener and enjoys learning about his clients and the communities they serve. His attention to people and detail is especially important when coordinating the work of subject matter experts, design staff, and technical consultants within the constraints of a project’s budget and schedule. John’s adaptability to varying design challenges is demonstrated by projects as diverse as the on-time, on-schedule delivery of a Technology Building for Buffalo State University while incorporating many changes during construction, to the Providence College Science Center, where John planned a multi-year, multi-phase program of renovations in order to maintain the instructional and research program of the Colleges science departments.

John recharges by spending time with his wife and their extended family or taking on their next home improvement project. Next up, he has his sights set on a craftsman-style sofa.

Institutions of higher learning play a prominent role in bettering our communities and beyond. One of the most gratifying parts of our work is being able to see students using the facilities we’ve designed and knowing that they will go on to brighter futures because they’ve been given the spaces they need to thrive.
