OVERVIEW:

Goody Clancy seeks an Interior Designer to join our Science and Technology practice group. Our Boston-based practice works with higher-education clients and research institutions on a variety of new-construction, renovation/addition, and preservation projects. Our practice offers a range of exciting projects including everything from core labs to new and emerging academic research curriculum across the institutions with whom we work.  While this role reports to the S&T Practice Leader, it may also contribute to projects within our other practice areas – Student Life, Business and Professional Schools, and Regenerative Renewal. The best candidate for this position will have experience with and demonstrated interest in interior design of science and technology projects with an interest in growth, leadership, and mentorship in this area of practice.  We are looking for creative, friendly, motivated and collaborative professionals who are actively engaged in ongoing learning and involved in the community outside the office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with project principal and design leader to develop and deliver the design vision with a focus on interior design concepts and finishes
  • Assumes responsibility for some project and team management tasks
  • Coordinates with client and consultant representatives
  • Develops interior design concepts and documentation including drawings, furniture layouts, ceiling plans, and finish plans, selections, area takeoffs and schedules; with particular focus on the science and technology environment
  • Research finish material and furniture selections and provides budget costs for clients
  • Travels to project sites and client meetings

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Professional architecture or interior design degree; architectural or interior design registration preferred
  • Collaborative and flexible approach to team assignments
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellence in design, organization and communications
  • Ability to make independent design decisions from a sound base of knowledge
  • Demonstrates experience on Science and Technology projects and the interior design principles and materials specific to this project type
