OVERVIEW:

Goody Clancy seeks a Senior Preservation Architect to join our Regenerative Renewal practice group. Our Boston-based practice works with higher-education clients and research institutions on a variety of new-construction, renovation/addition, and preservation projects – offering a range of experiences and many opportunities for growth. We are looking for an individual who is driven by a commitment to cultural and environmental stewardship through the renewal of existing structures. The best candidate for this position will have experience in preservation projects from existing conditions assessments through design and construction and will express an interest in leadership in this area of practice.  We are looking for creative, friendly, motivated, and collaborative professionals who are actively engaged in ongoing learning and involved in the community outside the office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates on projects with principal to develop and deliver the design vision
  • Assumes responsibility for project and team management tasks
  • Coordinates with client and consultant representatives
  • Performs on-site building investigations and assessment of existing conditions
  • Recommends and documents treatment, specification, and details for historic and existing building materials and assemblies
  • Contributes to project pursuits and represents the firm at external engagements
  • Communicates concepts of preservation, restoration, and adaptive reuse to the team and client
  • Travels to project sites and client meetings

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Professional architecture or preservation degree; architectural registration is a plus
  • Collaborative and flexible approach to team assignments
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellence in design, organization, and communications
  • Ability to make independent design decisions from a sound base of knowledge
  • Demonstrates experience on preservation and existing building projects and the technical and design aspects specific to this project type
