Purdue University Rawls Hall Krannert School of Management Goody Clancy Architecture Business School

Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN

A brand-building business school establishes a new gateway to campus

This impressive new home for Purdue’s business programs is a true gateway to the campus. Its contemporary design expresses the Krannert School’s focus on developing technology-savvy graduates, while its daylit Crossroads atrium, sophisticated classrooms, and interaction areas inspire collaboration and support business leader education.

Located prominently on State Street—the primary approach to campus—this landmark “gateway building” brings activity to the street edge and provides a graceful transition from the downtown retail district to the distinctive Purdue campus.

  • The striking modern design is a reflection of the Krannert School’s pre-eminent role in technology-based MBA education, while its warm, daylit interior inspires interaction at a variety of scales.
  • The central, skylit Crossroads space is the heart of the school, serving as a meeting place—both formal and informal—for faculty and students.
  • An inviting multi-level open stair connects all levels and places the building’s activity on display, supporting the school’s collaborative teaching philosophy. A glazed bridge links Rawls Hall to the original Krannert building across the street.
  • As a state-of-the-art teaching facility, program elements include more than a dozen sophisticated teaching spaces and the 4,000-square-foot Student Forum, which provides a central space for student and faculty presentations and school-wide gatherings.
