Olivia has always been an avid fiction reader, and from an early age found herself drawn to the importance of settings in immersive stories. She considered embarking on a career as a set designer until she realized that architecture fulfilled the same function for everyday life. As an architect, she is passionate about designing spaces that leave big impressions on the heart and little footprints on the planet.

Olivia dedicates her efforts to studying design options, assembling presentations, drafting details for drawing sets, solving spatial puzzles alongside consultants, and answering contractors’ questions. Known for her ability to listen patiently and learn from her colleagues, Olivia is adept at absorbing complex issues and making them digestible for others. She particularly enjoys the renovation of campus buildings and the ways that Good Clancy can extend and refresh their lives. Olivia is proud to have helped develop the CARE Tool (Carbon Avoided Retrofit Estimator), which will help others effectively reuse buildings and materials, as well as her work on the Cornell Balch Renovation and the Goodell Hall Renovation.

Outside of work, Olivia enjoys playing board games with friends. She also loves video games for their imaginative ways of representing and interacting with 2D and 3D space. She has even authored an academic paper on the subject: “Playing Producer: An alternative perspective on video games as film.”

I am constantly motivated by how our work makes meaningful changes to existing, beautiful buildings. Not only do we breathe new life into our projects, but we strive to change how sustainable design is practiced, too.
