Lance’s path to architecture began in high school, when a fascination with Photoshop quickly grew from creating photocollages into building websites and graphic design work on the side. After high school, he joined the Navy, where technical training instilled a strong sense of rigor and sharpened his attention to detail. When he discovered architecture in college, everything clicked: it offered a way to bring his creative instincts and technical mindset together—and he was hooked.
Lance is particularly drawn to adaptive reuse and renovation, fascinated by the relationship between old and new. He enjoys researching historic design and building methods and exploring how they can inform contemporary solutions. He finds the collaborative side of architecture equally rewarding, especially the teamwork, coordination, and consensus-building that bring a project to life.
Outside the office, Lance is a top 0.1% Depeche Mode listener according to Spotify Wrapped, hopes to attend boat-building school in retirement, and is a dog dad to two mischievous rescue husky mixes.
