Topping Off Ceremony at the New Engineering Research Building
On October 15, the Virginia Commonwealth University held an official topping off ceremony for the new Engineering Research Building. The ceremony featured remarks by Barbara D. Boyan, Ph.D., the Alice T. and William H. Goodwin, Jr. Dean of the VCU College of Engineering and VCU President Michael Rao, Ph.D.
Through the ERB, the College of Engineering aims to expand its capacity to advance research focused on mechanical and nuclear engineering, computer science and biomedical engineering; invest in a new 9,000 SF makerspace; and better integrate its existing facilities, leveraging the potential of the building to foster a more collaborative research environment.
This new 138,000 building is slated to open in late 2020 was designed in partnership with Baskervil.
