The Pandemic is a Portal: Sustainability

Last week, Goody Clancy’s Jean Carroon FAIA LEED Fellow participated in The Pandemic is a Portal: Sustainability, an informative webinar hosted by Metropolis Magazine and facilitated by Avinash Rajagopal, Editor in Chief. Panelists engaged in insightful discussion about the 2030 Commitment, the current health crisis, and how designers are using lessons learned to take the sustainability movement to the next level.

Questions included:

• Is there a silver lining to the COVID-19 crisis? Do you think we can see any positive changes in general attitudes to sustainability?
• Are there any dangers we need to guard against? Are there things we might be tempted towards, as an industry, during this crisis, but might hurt us in the long run?
• What should designers be informing themselves about now, so they can be better prepared for a post-COVID world?
