Jean Carroon questions Net Zero in Building Energy Magazine

In the latest issue of Building Energy, the magazine of the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA), Goody Clancy principal Jean Carroon questions the benefits of focusing on Net Zero Energy (NZE) as a goal for individual buildings. Questions about the sustainability of energy storage, efficiency of small-scale power generation, (perhaps mistaken) focus on end-use energy, and other issues are arguments for a more critical look at the sustainability of the NZE goal on a per-building basis. However, the ideas of NZE may still “contribute to integrated design solutions and a better overall building.”
