High-Profile Monthly Features UVA’s Brandon Ave Upper Class Housing
High-Profile Monthly recently highlighted Goody Clancy’s work at University of Virginia’s campus. Under the leadership of Jean Carroon, FAIA, LEED Fellow, the Goody Clancy team is currently working on the Brandon Avenue Upper Class Housing project—a new residence hall that will house 320 UVA seniors. The article draws parallels between our project’s objectives, opportunities, and challenges and those of another residence hall project at Purchase College/SUNY, for which Newman Architects is the architect-of-record. KBE Building Corporation is responsible for the construction of both projects.
Jean is quoted in the article, describing how the new building will reflect the University’s master planning community-oriented goals: “three grand design gestures…readily invite people to move from the Green Street through the portal, then into the courtyard, which is in itself a celebratory space, and finally into the building.”
We look forward to students making the space their home in fall 2019!
