City of Warwick, RI Comprehensive Plan wins 2014 RI APA Award

The Rhode Island Chapter of the American Planning Association has awarded the City of Warwick, RI the 2014 award for Excellent Comprehensive Plan for their plan titled 21st Century Warwick: City of Livable Neighborhoods.

After the coastal city suffered extensive flooding of the Pawtuxet River in 2010, Goody Clancy worked with Warwick to update its comprehensive plan through an extensive community engagement process. The plan aims to help the city become a more connected, prosperous and sustainable community. According to the RI APA, “The strategies and concepts envisioned in the plan, from Village District zoning, to compact development options to help preserve open space, to enhancing connectivity throughout the City, to pursuing a thoughtful economic development agenda, all work together to tell a clear and exciting story about the City’s future.”
