Senior Preservation Architect

Overview

Goody Clancy seeks a Senior Preservation Architect to join our team. We believe building reuse is a critical component of climate action, and we partner with institutions to steward their cultural heritage through historic building renewal, strategic reuse planning, and high-performance retrofits. The ideal candidate for this position will share a passion for building reuse and preservation and have an interest in leadership for this area of expertise. Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with principals to develop and deliver design visions 
  • Assume responsibility for project and team management tasks 
  • Coordinate with client and consultant representatives 
  • Perform on-site building investigations and assess existing conditions
  • Recommend and document treatment, specification, and details for historic and existing building materials and assemblies 
  • Contribute to project pursuits and represent the firm at external engagements 
  • Communicate preservation, restoration, and adaptive reuse concepts to internal project teams and clients 
  • Travel to project sites and attend client meetings 

Qualifications and Required Experience:

  • Professional architecture or preservation degree (architectural registration is a plus) 
  • Collaborative and flexible approach to team assignments 
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Excellent design, organization, and communication skills
