Jean Carroon to speak at Traditional Building's Conference Series
Jean Carroon, FAIA, LEED, will give the opening Keynote Address: The Power of Preservation on Thursday, 9am July 14 at the Traditional Building Conference in Boston.
The Power of Preservation makes a compelling argument that preservation not only delivers a full range of societal benefits, from job creation to stronger social connection, but is essential to the protection of the environment. With increasing awareness of the need for a more environmentally sustainable built environment, the context in which historic preservation practitioners work is changing. Carroon will review current research assessing the environmental value of reusing buildings and the strategies and technologies that give heritage buildings a lighter environmental footprint.
