Goody Clancy Wins National CNU Awards Including CNU's Grand Prize!
11th Annual Charter Awards Honor Diverse Set of Projects Highlighting Best New Urbanist Practices
We are excited to announce the Congress of New Urbanism awarded Goody Clancy with two 2011 Charter Awards! Of over 100 entries, Goody Clancy received 2 of the 9 total awards that will be handed out at this year’s CNU19 Awards Ceremony on June, 2nd in Madison, WI. The South Coast Rail Economic Development & Land Use Corridor Plan was awarded CNU's grand prize for professional projects, The DC Streetcar Land Use Study received a Charter Award for the Region: Metropolis, City, and Town category and Goody Clancy's Aga Khan University-FAS Land-Use Study received an honorable mention. The CNU says "that remaining dedicated to proven development principles in building quality, mixed-use neighborhoods, and advancing reforms in codes and other city policies, the Charter Awards recipients show how New Urbanists are meeting today's challenges by emphasizing quality of life, safety and sustainability in our communities... The South Coast Rail Economic Development & Land Use Corridor Plan, the grand prize winner from Goody Clancy, coordinates transportation investment with economic development, and in the process represents high-level collaboration between towns, cities, and regional and state agencies."
