New Orleans Planning Work Wins IDA Award
Goody Clancy’s planning work for District 1 (including downtown and the French Quarter), received a Merit Award in Planning from the International Downtown Association as part of that organization’s 2007 Downtown Achievement Awards program.
The work was one of thirteen district recovery plans created as part of the Unified New Orleans Plan (UNOP) process in response to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and was submitted by the Downtown Development District of New Orleans (DDD). "This award from IDA recognizes the quality of planning that is happening in downtown right now," said Kurt Weigle, President of the DDD, "and it establishes credibility with the national and international development communities."
