The Restoration of "Breathing Room"
Urban Design and Public Arts students from the Urbano Project in Jamaica Plain, MA (http://www.urbanoproject.org/) came together to revive “Breathing Room”, a sculpture created by Joan Goody and Lesley Davidson in 2006 as part of the Arts installation at the Forest Hills Cemetery.
The students felt that the spontaneous art had sprung up around it in recent years compromised the sculpture’s beauty. The space had become cluttered and looked run down. The students worked to revive the sculpture and to transform it to once again be a peaceful and reflective place.
