Every one of Goody Clancy’s projects is designed using sustainability principles. Seventy-five percent of our architectural staff are LEED Accredited Professionals reflecting our firm-wide commitment to sustainability and its impact on the future of our environment. We incorporate the U.S. Green Building Council LEED Rating System into many of our projects. Three of our recent projects have received LEED Silver and Gold certification. Currently, we have over 1.5 million SF of buildings in design or construction registered with USGBC for future LEED ratings with a target of Silver or better.
Goody Clancy is a proud recipient of a 2008 City of Boston Green Business Award and a Bike-Friendly Business Award, recognizing our firm’s “extraordinary performance related to sustainable environmental practices.”
The firm has always incorporated sustainable design strategies into our work, beginning with innovative solar houses in the 1960s and the groundbreaking Massachusetts Transportation Building in the 1980s. The award-winning building relies solely on energy recovery from building occupants, lights and systems. Our environmental approach starts with site planning and building orientation and continues through building design, landscape and operating protocols. We are committed to using sustainably-grown hardwoods, high recycled-content materials, and domestic brick and stone products in our work wherever possible and appropriate.
