Auburn Court
Homeowner’s Rehabilitation Inc.
Cambridge, Massachusetts
According to Banker & Tradesman architectural critic Phillip Arcidi, Auburn Court is “some of the best mixed-income housing built in Massachusetts since the 1980s.”
Located on the edge of the large mixed-use project (University Park) owned by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the 77-unit housing development combines flats and duplexes that are similar in scale to homes in the adjacent neighborhood.
Relevant Project Information:
- Steel-framed buildings, sheathed primarily in wood siding and trim, are arranged around a series of courtyards.
- Nearly every unit has a terrace, porch, or balcony.
- A variety of colors, materials, and building types were used to give the development the appearance of an older, well-established Cambridge neighborhood.
