Boston, MassachusettsThe $152 million New Academic Science Building at UMass Boston will replace the university’s outdated and deteriorated Science Building, providing a new home for the departments of UMass Boston’s College of Science and Mathematics, Psychology Department of the College of Liberal Arts and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
Relevant Project information:
- This project will bring together all university departments that are involved in laboratory research and teaching.
- The state-of-the-art new facility will include the full range of teaching laboratories needed to support the course offerings of UMass Boston, and provide lab space to support faculty-led research in a wide variety of fields, including biology, chemistry, math, earth and environmental sciences, physics, psychology and nursing.
- The New Academic Science Building is intended to inspire the UMass Boston community, offering dynamic meeting and teaching spaces.
- Spaces include seminar classrooms and specialized space for workshop-style courses.
- This will be the first of a number of new buildings planned for the UMass Boston campus, as the first phase of implementation of the Campus Master Plan.
